Our Programs

Our main goal is to promote the growth and development of each child as a unique individual, and to provide a safe, positive and rich learning environment.

We fundamentally believe children possess extraordinary potential and are capable, strong, and powerful constructors of their own knowledge.

Infant

Where it all begins…

The Infant program accommodates children from 8 month – 18 months of age. The parents, infants and educators go through a fresh start and transition. This period is a time of fostering trusting relationships between parents, children and educators.

As parents know their child best, open dialogue between the educator and parent will allow the infant to flourish in their new environment. Infant educators will provide parent/guardian details of the infants dietary intake, sleep routines, toileting, explorations and all the first experiences on a daily basis. Our centre is equipped with unique digital features to help us stay in touch and connected with our families.

Toddlers

The growth continues…

The toddler program is designed for children aged 18 – 30 months of age. It is our belief that children learn through play in a home-like environment. Educators observe and document children’s learning on a daily basis. Our observations are used to provide opportunities to foster children’s natural curiosity, initiative & independence. We work together at every level through collaboration among their peers, teachers and parents. Parents are seen as a partner in this process; we involve them in sharing ideas, resources and discussion around their child’s day.

We provide age appropriate activities; provide sensory experiences that stimulate the children’s natural curiosity and expand on all developmental areas. It is also important that we communicate daily with parents and we do this both verbally and in writing..

Preschool

Alpha Child Care employs a reggio-inspired, project based approach to early childhood education. Teachers deliver an “emergent curriculum,” predicated on the emerging interests, ideas and questions of the children. Project work provides ample opportunity for discussion, decision-making, choices, cooperation, and evaluation during the course of an investigation. Projects can last days, weeks, months or through a school year based on the interest and enthusiasm of the children.

Through these projects, educators routinely plan and deliver a wide variety of educational experiences, which incorporate emergent literacy, math, science, nature, music, visual arts, dramatic arts, fine and gross motor development.

Kindergarten readiness is at the heart of our preschool program we integrate Ontario’s guiding document for early years learning “how does learning happen document” throughout the educational experiences

Our specialty teachers deliver additional music, arts, fitness and french language on a weekly basis

Kindergarten

It is our intention to educate and guide every child in whichever learning pattern works for them. Alpha Child Care knows that each child is bright, eager and capable of greatness and excited to explore all areas of their world, it is our intention to open the doors to all aspects of the world around them and share it with every child as there is no better learning then learning through doing, seeing, hearing and exploring.

Our kindergarten teachers are OCT and RECE certified and are more than capable of creating age appropriate learning experiences that will challenge your children daily. We integrate Ontario’s kindergarten document throughout the educational experiences, Mathematics, Literacy, Science, Social studies, arts, physical and health education are all addressed in our kindergarten classrooms. Our specialty teachers deliver arts, music, fitness and French language on a weekly basis.

Our low teacher to student ratio makes it possible for us to execute the curriculum at an individualized pace. We are academically driven and we create a variety of learning opportunities where students can explore, create, discover and grow.

Serving Brampton Community for Over 40 years

Reggio Emilia Inspired Learning Philosophy

As Alpha Child Care transitions from Play Based learning to Reggio Emilia Inspired Learning Philosophy its goal is to offer a Reggio-Inspired Program, an internationally recognized philosophy from Reggio Emilia, Italy, based on a profoundly respectful image of the child.

We fundamentally believe children possess extraordinary potential and are capable, strong, and powerful constructors of their own knowledge. They are active participants, not empty vessels. We respect and value each child’s rights, uniqueness, differences, and individual rhythms, echoing Carlina Rinaldi’s view of children as “citizens of our community… and citizens of our world.”

Our core mission is to honor this principle. We are committed to providing resources, an engaging environment, and supportive relationships for each child’s unique journey. Central to this is respecting and fostering “The Hundred Languages of Children,” a metaphor for the many ways a child expresses understanding (e.g., drawing, music, movement).

We utilize the environment as the “Third Teacher,” celebrating these diverse languages as powerful learning tools. Our educators observe, listen, and document to make learning visible, co-constructing knowledge with the children.

The Hundred Languages of Children!

The concept of the Hundred Languages serves as a metaphor, highlighting the vast, extraordinary potential within children. This potential is evident in their methods of knowledge construction and their creative processes. Children communicate their understanding of the world through these numerous “languages,” demonstrating the diverse ways in which they can learn, know, and express themselves.

Celebrating Every Child’s Voice and Expression

Children have a dedicated environment and an expansive selection of materials—a hundred languages—to translate internal thoughts into tangible forms. This includes traditional media like paint, clay, and fabric, as well as expressive arts like drama and dance.

We also celebrate unconventional materials. Sculpture and construction promote spatial reasoning. Storytelling builds narrative skills. Crucially, integrating loose parts promotes imaginative play and divergent, self-directed learning.

We place immense value and dignity on all forms of learning and expression. This ensures every child’s unique voice is heard, whether through traditional verbal communication or powerful non-verbal forms like gesture, movement, visual art, or mathematical patterns. By celebrating this wide range of expressions, we cultivate confident, articulate, and deeply reflective individuals.

The Reggio Emilia philosophy of "three teachers"

The Reggio Emilia approach centers on the philosophy of “three teachers”: the child, the trained educator, and the learning environment. The child is seen as a proactive learner and constructor of knowledge, possessing vast potential (the “hundred languages”). The adult educator acts as a co-learner and researcher, meticulously listening, observing, and documenting the children’s work. This documentation informs and refines the emergent curriculum. Finally, the environment is intentionally structured as the “third teacher”—an aesthetically rich space that provokes curiosity, facilitates relationships, and encourages autonomous exploration, confirming the centrality of physical space to fostering creativity and deep inquiry.

A Partnership in Discovery and Growth

Our educational approach fosters a dynamic, stimulating environment where children’s natural curiosity is ignited. Teachers act as facilitators, using “intriguing provocations” (ideas, materials, or questions) to spark deep engagement and intellectual exploration.

We are committed to building “higher-level thinking” through “scaffolding”—tailored, gradually withdrawn support. Learning is a “co-construction of inquiry,” a shared journey of discovery between children and educators.

Crucially, “educators, parents, and children are viewed as collaborators.” We see “parents as an essential resource,” integrating their unique insights into the curriculum to ensure a holistic, meaningful experience connected to the child’s home life and culture. This partnership supports each child’s development and success.

Fostering a Collaborative Learning Partnership

Student success is deeply rooted in strong parent-teacher communication, which is the bedrock for a positive and productive learning environment. Education is a collaborative journey, and parental insights are invaluable.

Our Commitment to Your Child’s Growth
Our central objective is to attentively consider and integrate your unique needs, aspirations, and desires for your child. Understanding your perspective provides a holistic view of the student’s life and challenges, allowing us to tailor the educational experience effectively.

Personalizing the Learning Journey
We are dedicated to helping your child thrive by capitalizing on their individual interests and innovative ideas. Connecting learning to a child’s passions increases engagement, leading to deeper comprehension, motivation, and retention. Our educators actively weave personal interests into the curriculum, transforming passive learning into an active, meaningful, and impactful exploration for every student.
