Shivana Seedeyal

Hello! My name is Padmini (Shivana) Seedeyal, and I am the Assistant Supervisor for Alpha’s
Springdale location.
I have been in the RECE field for over 10 years now but have been a practicing educator for
longer; through volunteering at public schools, child care centres and tutoring. I started my
journey at Alpha in 2018, first in the Infant room, moving to Sr Preschool and becoming a Lead
Educator, then to Preschool 3 continuing as a Lead, and officially becoming an Assistant
Supervisor in early 2023.
During my time at Alpha, I was given many opportunities of growth and development through
joining various committees, being a certified Joint Health and Safety Committee Member,
achieving my Food Handlers Certificate, as well as training in the office while having Mary,
Patricia, and Alicia as my mentors. Alpha has provided many wonderful opportunities for me to
gain more knowledge and have first-hand encounters; both good and challenging. It’s never a
dull moment here!
During my free-time, I enjoy writing poetry, song lyrics, and children’s short stories, as well as
creative arts/design including painting and drawing, singing, and just relaxing at home while
watching a good movie. I also enjoy spending time with loved ones, exploring new places and
food, and take in all that the world has to offer while sharing as much kindness as I can.
Everyone needs a little kindness sometimes! 🙂
As I progress more into my role, I look forward to meeting new families, as well as creating a
stronger bond with our current families. I also look forward to engaging with every child in each
room, while working as a team with the educators to successfully guide their growth and
development. Observing the little ones grow up to become incredible, independent,
knowledgeable children is quite rewarding. Listening to their adventures, scaffolding their
learning, formulating conversations, and just observing how their minds can be so creative is a
privilege to be a part of as well.
